  Imkaan

  Female Empowerment

Imkaan is a UK-based, Black feminist organisation. They are the only national umbrella women's organisation dedicated to addressing violence against Black and minoritised women and girls i.e. women and girls which are defined in policy terms as Black and 'Minority Ethnic' (BME). Imkaan works to challenge and dismantle systemic inequalities that disproportionately affect women and girls from these backgrounds. They provide a range of resources, training and support services for organisations that work with survivors of violence. Additionally, they advocate for policy changes that recognise the specific needs of Black and minoritised women, influencing national discussions on gender-based violence and discrimination. Their efforts span both grassroots community work and national policy lobbying, making them a vital voice in the movement for racial and gender justice.
